Does anyone recognise the BBC commentator here? The photo was taken in Chiswick in October 1952 during an outside broadcast for the Earls Court Motor Show.

From left to right: Bill Aldington, BBC commentator, Count ‘Johnny’ Lurani, in the car Franco Cortese.

The car is the second Targa Florio built, ordered by Errol Flynn in mid-Iris blue for his wife Patrice Wymore. They took it to Rome with them in 1953 when Flynn was co-producing a film there. Unfortunately the Italian financial backers failed to come up with all the cash, Errol ran out of money and could not finish the film. One of the lead actors sued him for unpaid fees and the courts took all the Flynn’s possessions in Rome, including the Nash. Nobody knows what happened to it after that.
