If we hadn't have needed to take a certain road to avoid a traffic queue, we wouldn't have met Joe Breeze. If we hadn't met Joe Breeze we wouldn't have met Bob Winkelman. Bob worked on the two post war Nashes of Jim and Marion Lowe out in California during the 1950s. He was also a very successful racing driver. More about this in a future Chain Gang Gazette. Joe Breeze suggested that we might call on Bob at his home just north of San Francisco, which we did so on our last day before arriving in Monterey. Bob gave us very friendly welcome and was then delighted to pull out his compressor and trolley jack when the valve on one of PG's tyres decided to expire whilst we were having a cuppa.
