1,000 Mile Samuel Reliability Run

logo

30th Jan 2025
Event Date: 28th Jun 2025

On 25th October 1936 a 2 litre Frazer Nash driven by J.O.Samuel and H.A. Jonas completed a journey from Folkstone to Edinburgh and back. Since that date several re-enactments have taken place, most recently in France. There is a great article written by Louise Bunting in Issue 165 of The Gazette pages 21-23, easily accessed via the website Gazette Index.

Once again, the club would like to stage a re-enactment, this time the route will be in two loops starting and finishing at a halfway point between Folkstone and Edinburgh.

The event will take place on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 28/29th June 2025. HQ will be at Kirkby House, Scrooby DN10 6AD where camping, catering and garage facilities will be available all weekend.

Competitors will plan their own routes. Each car will carry a transponder so that progress, route, time, distance and average speed can be recorded at HQ. If a car breaks down or needs assistance along the route, we should be able to link the drivers up with the helpers. On arrival back in Scrooby a meal will be provided to driver and co-driver.
