xmx4_(7)_clubmans_14_oct_1967

4th Jun 2018

A new book by Roger Farmer on Betty Haig is due to be launched at Prescott on 14th July.  It will cost £45 but he is offering it to members for £35.  If you would like a copy, please email the Secretary in the first instance at secretary@frazernash.co.uk.

If you own a Frazer Nash then the name Betty Haig may be familiar to you as the woman who campaigned her cars in the way they should. Betty was a founding club member of the FNCC and owned no less than six Frazer Nash models during her driving career. This astonishing limited edition biography reveals far more about the life of rally driver Betty Haig than she would ever have committed to print. This colourful book is superbly illustrated with over 100 images from her personal collection coupled with entries from her diaries that give a real insight into the world of continental rally driving and hill climbing between 1935 and 1965.

Betty Haig is best remembered today as the co-founder of the Historic Sports Car Club, but she did so much more! Betty's world was populated by a cast of characters that would not seem out of place in a novel. Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction. The book includes a comprehensive catalogue of every vehicle ever owned by Betty and every event in which she competed. If you like motoring history you will love this book!
