PG 7028's Adventures in Wonderland

Louise and Richard have just started their second USA adventure , . .

We are now 1,532 miles into this second crossing of the States, this time east to west, and en route for the race track at Laguna Seca at the Monterey Festival in California next month. Currently on the state line between Iowa and Nebraska, at Sioux City. All well so far with PG other than a replacement exhaust gasket.

We spent a couple of nights with members Frank and Janet Allocca in Chester, NJ, and then same with Ed and Sandy Osborn at their holiday home by Lake Chautauqua, NY. High temperatures, high humidity, torrential rain, and managing to avoid tornado warnings in Iowa and flooding in Pennsylvania. Stay off the highways and one is constantly entertained by all of life in this incredible country. Three days have been spent driving through millions of acres of nothing but corn (that's sweetcorn) and beans (that's soybeans). Tonight we knew we had made it when driving to a restaurant on the outskirts of town when two guys on Harley's drove alongside and yelled "BAD ASS, MAN! BASS ASS!" grinning and giving thumbs up.

Tomorrow, PG is going to a REAL (not for the tourists) pow wow by the Ho-Chuck tribe in Winnebago, Nebraska, by special invitation. There will be 1,500 dancers. What an experience!
